There are many options available to the Mozambique explorer and each has unique benefits:

Self driving options:

Morrungulo is located about 560 km north of Maputo. The drive is not too far by distance, and the roads are very good apart from 2 short sections. It is no problem at all to take a 2 wheel drive vehicle all the way to the resort. If you have your own vehicle we will supply you with a map, detailed information of what you need in terms of letters of permission, what it will cost for 3rd party insurance and the process you need follow at the border. The drive from Johannesburg to Maputo takes about 5 hours. we recommend breaking the journey in 2 on the way up, with a night spent in Maputo, the following day is about an 8 hour journey up to the resort. If you don't want to drive your own vehicle up, we can arrange a vehicle from Imperial at OR Tambo to take you north. We recommend a type B vehicle as these are more comfortable for a long trip. Cost of doing this is about R6000 total for an 8 day trip. Between a group of four, this works out to R1500 for return transport including fuel to the resort and back, plus you get to see Maputo and a great deal of the country side on the way.

Fly-in Options:

LAM Airlines fly to Inhambane and back from OR Tambo on Monday Wednesday Friday and Sunday. The flight is in a new Embraer Turbo Prop plane that was purchased to service this route. Flight time is about an hour and a half. Flights cost in the region of R4000 return per person. We will arrange transfers from Inhambane Airport to the resort (1,5hrs drive). The fly - in option best suits smaller groups or people with limited time available.

Bus Options:

For the adventurous traveller you can get to us by bus - we recommend the greyhound to Maputo followed by TCO to Massinga. This method of getting there is very reasonable, and you can achieve a price of about R1000 per person return from Johannesburg using this method !
