Ponta Morrungulo is truly the hidden gem of the southern Mozambique coastline. This well-established resort is located half-way between Inhambane and Vilanculos. The unique topography of the area sees resort divided between a lush tranquil palm grove down below and a stunning bar and restaurant up on the hilltop. The view you see in the photograph above can be enjoyed while dining at the restaurant in a gentle breeze. The Palm grove down below is planted with rolling green lawns and the silence is broken only by the rolling waves breaking on the beach.

Morrungulo is a must visit for the diver looking for something new and unspoiled. The reefs at Morrungulo are large, boast abundant fish life and are largely un-dived. Ponta Morrungulo is located a little south of a 14km long reef system called Sylvia Shoal. Reefs range in depth from about 6 metres to 40 metres and offer fantastic conditions for any level of diver. We are still finding new reefs and dive spots each week to go and dive. The area offers the opportuntiy to see whale sharks, white tip reef sharks and Mantas. During whale season June - October we will also be running whale watching trips to view the humpbacks that visit us. Morrungulo is unique in Mozambique in that it offers top quality camping facilites as well as Barracas, Cassitas and Chalets. It makes an ideal family holiday destination and is about a day's drive from Johannesburg.
